The Physician Practice Assistant supports the medical and nursing staff in providing care and comfort to infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, and young adult patients during outpatient clinic appointments by performing routine clinical and clerical tasks. In addition, they are responsible for phlebotomy and assisting with the application and removal of casts.
- The Physician Practice Assistant assists in rooming patients, taking vital signs, measurements, preparation of exam rooms, assisting the physician, interacting with other departments.
The Physicain Practice Assistant works with and under the direction of the Physician and RN.
Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes.- Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Responsible for prepping clinic to include ordering and monitoring supply levels and equipment.
Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed
Required:
High School Diploma / GED
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic or physician's office beyond internship preferred.
Two years' pediatric care experience
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
